Eric Richards is an experienced high school German teacher, author, and presenter. Eric is a 2021 ACTFL Teacher of Year Finalist. He was selected as the FLAM Distinguished Educator in 2019, and went on to be named as the Central States Teacher of the Year in March of 2020. He teaches at Fort Zumwalt North High School, where he is also the department chair. During his time at Fort Zumwalt North High, he has grown the German program into a large, successful, and vibrant program. He is the author of a series of TPRS/Comprehensible Input books and other readers for the world language classroom that are designed to support student learning and development in world languages. He also authored "Grafted Writing", which is designed to help educators facilitate language acquisition through reading and writing. Eric presents on various topics in world language methodology and strategies at national and regional conferences around the United States. Eric is currently working in the classroom and also on new titles, teaching materials and presentations.
