TPRS and multiple level classrooms

If you teach less commonly taught languages in a public school, you will have at least one multiple level classroom. I have taught multiple level classrooms for eight years in high school and used different teaching methods to accommodate the curriculum required. TPRS is the only solution in my opinion. This session will discuss the need for examining necessary information before designing a multiple level classroom. The information includes the curriculum and assessments required for different levels. The workload will be determined by these requirements. The next step is to choose and mix the vocabulary and structures needed for all levels to create the reading stories. Embedded Reading works well for a multiple level classroom. The circling and the classroom management are the most challenging components of a multiple level classroom. I will share some strategies for designing the lesson before, during and after the class that have worked for me.
