Peninsula High School
Spanish & French Teacher/ WL Dept Chair
Gig Harbor, WA
I have taught Spanish and French for 23 years, and did TPRS many years ago as a French teacher. I left teaching to be an elementary administrator for 6 years, then returned to teach high school Spanish 2 years ago. We have an all new World Languages department staff, and I have been the chair for one year. I loved doing TPRS years ago, and hope to refresh my own skills as well as bring it to my school. We are frustrated with the amount of grammar our curriculum is pushing us to teach, and the result is students are learning "about" language without learning to speak it. We are ready to move to a system that actually gives our students the skills to use language, and are excited to move our school and our district forward!
